“The Droid Turbo 2 answers the 3 most common problems with smartphones. With its Shatterproof screen, fantastic battery life and near vanilla Android software, the Droid Turbo 2 is the phone we’ve been waiting for.”
AMAZING CAMERA - The Droid Turbo 2 boasts a 21 MP camera, high enough quality for any marketer's basic needs. People are sometimes surprised to learn all of my photography is taken with my cellphone.
TWO DAY BATTERY LIFE - Forgetting to charge your phone is never an issue, which is great for those self-proclaimed space cadets lost in thought like me.
INDESTRUCTIBLE - I basically have dyslexia for fine-motor coordination. I drop my phone ~10 times a day, and the Turbo just doesn't care. Waterproof, shatterproof - my first phone that has lasted a two year contract.
SIMPLE, CLEAN, EASY - Minimal bloatware, great intrinsic shortcuts, powerful enough for me to have 79 tabs open with no trouble.
It's all about the drop.
SIM CARD ISSUES - Sometimes when the phone is dropped the SIM card pops out. When this happens, one needs to restart the phone. On one occasion, I had to purchase another SIM card because previous one suddenly stopped functioning.
CAMERA IMPROVEMENTS - The editing software provided with the phone is sub-par and could be upgraded to match the apps on the market. Adding additional functions like time-lapse would would highlight the phones's camera capabilities even further.
NOT THE PRETTIEST - The phone, app, and widget designs give the phone a distinctly rugged feel. And yes, the phone is a sturdy beast, but adding elegance to the phone case and display would go a long way in making the phone more competitive.
GET LOST - I lose my phone everywhere. I imagine frequently dropping and losing one's phone might be co-morbid. Motorola should consider having a "Find my phone" upgrade which works from a key chain that can be purchased with the phone.
I discovered this phone by chance. I was hanging by the bay, where long conversations grow. On this particular day I was excited. I had applied for a job I really wanted, and I would be getting a phone call the next morning either with an offer or a rejection. A close friend and I were having an animated conversation, but with one wild hand gesture, I threw my phone into the bay.
I rushed to the nearest Verizon and arrived just as the store was closing. They didn't have my standard HTC, nor even an LG phone which I had once enjoyed. I finally went with the unknown Droid Turbo, despite knowing nothing about it, since I desperately needs a phone for the next morning.
Best accidental destruction of property of my life. The next morning, I got the job. It was a position to manage the social media tourism accounts for Worcester County Maryland, including popular destinations Ocean City, Maryland Assateague National Seashore, and Berlin, Maryland,, "America's Coolest Small Town." I grew the stagnant Beach and Beyond Facebook page from approximately 5,000 followers to 15,000 followers through recording amazing scenes, both photo and video, with my Droid Turbo 2. I never would have been so successful in my new position without accidentally destroying my mediocre HTC Thunderbolt before starting the job.
Result: I will never buy another brand of phone ever again. Highly recommended. The video below showcases some of the cool photos I have taken with the Droid Turbo 2. All photos on this website, Fine Art America, Instagram, etc. were taken with my trusty Droid Turbo 2.
